Storytelling

                                 January 22, 2016,  I took first place at The Twin Cities Moth GrandSLAM II at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota.  The theme was, When Worlds Collide.  I told a story about my Grandmother.

A couple of years ago, I began entering spoken word and storytelling competitions. I have always loved to tell stories and I have been surprised and pleased by the positive feedback on my performances.  

In the summer of 2015 I joined forces with Javier Morillo-Alicea to create an hour long show of stories about our growing up queer, in Iowa and Puerto Rico.  We performed our show five time as part of the MN. Fringe Festival.  We recieved great reviews, here is one from the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
